Hunger Games Inspired Outfit of the Day

I don't know about you, but I am super excited about the Hunger Games!! My cousin told me about the books 2 weeks ago and told me about the movie that was coming out. I watched the trailer and now I dont know if I have the patience to wait!!!
I totally soaked up all 3 books in a week and a half (which is saying something because I don't read that fast unless I'm totally into the book).

Anyways, When I like someone in a movie or book, I try to base a look on them. Today, I did my hair, makeup and outfit inspired by her.

                                                              *****Hair*****

Here, you can see that her hair is in a messy sidebraid. Easy to do, right?

In this pic, you can see that it's a side-french-braid that goes down the back of her head. Still sounds easy, right?
It is easy once you get the hang of it but when you can't do a french braid on yourself, it's a little challenging!! ;)

After about 5 times of trying to do my hair and failing, arms tired and feeling like their about to fall off, I finally did it!! It doesn't look quite like the one in the pic, but I think it's pretty good considering.
Whoops, sorry. Forgot to flip it. :/

For a first time, I don't think it's all that bad. :)
Here's the Youtube Link that I learned this off of. If I didn't see the movie trailer, this is exactly how I would of pictured Katniss. Idk...my opinion. :D Hopefully she can help you, too!! :::: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fe69KeDW9rw&list=FLYWm-3bclIUWva1QabzPalw&index=2&feature=plpp_video

Onto ***The Makeup***
You can see in this pic that she has like...no makeup on. Well, visible, anyway. I'm sure she has bronzer and foundation, but nothing that strikes out.

All I've put on is my normal base: Foundation, concealer, etc. Then added bronzer. Also, eye liner, not that she has it on, but because that's what I always do. Add a little bit of brown eyeshadow and mascara. That's it.

Finally, the ***Outfit***
You can see that she's wearing a simple outfit. Can't go hunting in the hunger games in a complicated outfit, now can she?
So, black shirt. Check. Jacket (except I didn't have a black one). Check.

Here's what I've come up with. Nothing too fancy. I wish I had a golden pin of some kind. That'd look even more awesome if it was the mockingjay pin, but those are way expensive...
Army green jacket, black shirt and a beige skirt from Catos.

Here's my jacket. I meant to button it up before  that pic up ^^there^^ but I forgot. SO...here, I've buttoned it up. >>>

I wish I had some shorter combat-looking boots, but these ol' trusty ones will have to do for now.

Me one more time!

Hope y'all enjoyed this outfit of the day. And...hopefully yall love the Hunger Games as much as I did.

Outfit of the Day!

My mom and I went to the mall to get one of these special curling irons for my mom for Christmas. The mall really convicts you to dress so much cooler than you normally would! LOL!

For jewelry, I did a mixture of bracelts. As you can see, I put silver and black bangles with pearls.

I wore my big black boots
Here's the outfit itself. Please excuse the background...
A fedora, leggings, a belt.

My Gingerbread house!!

I was so surprised at how awesome this turned out! :D

Yay me!!

How to make Christmas Mice

Have you ever been invited to a Christmas party and been expected to bring something? Or wanna give someone a Christmas gift, but can't afford something expensive? Sounds like you need Christmas Mice!
These are so easy and so delicious!

What you'll need:
Melting Chocolate
Cherries *with stems*
Slivered Almonds
Hershey's Kisses (we use the ones with almonds)
Writing Icing (optional)

First thing you do, is get some melting chocolate. Melt it in the microwave 15-30 seconds at a time. Stir every time it stops. Be very careful to not burn it!!
Or
Melt on the stove in a very small pan on low. Stir often to make sure it doesn't burn.
Next, take your cherries. Dry any juice on it using a paper towl.
Dip just the cherry part in chocolate. Place on wax or parchment paper. Or, if you need to, aluminum foil works good, too. :)

Cover the cherry with chocolate.

While the chocolate is still wet, place a Kiss on the opposite side of the stem. This will be your head;the stem is the tail.

Take one slivered almond and break it in half. The one on the left is a whole slivered almond. The one on the right is one that's broken in half. These will become your ears.

Dip the flat end into the melted chocolate.

Now place them on the Kiss like so. Can't you see the mouse form?
With writing icing, make eyes and a nose.

This is a top view.
And there you go! You're done!
